ProWarm Backer-Pro insulation boards are made from high quality extruded polystyrene panels, covered with a fibreglass mesh on both sides.
For use with ProWarm underfloor heating mats and loose cables. Not for use with underwood heating systems. They act as first class heat insulation for under floor heating systems. These tile backer boards can also be used as a superior waterproof surface for use under floor or wall tiles.
- 6mm thickness
- Each board is 1200mm x 600mm - and covers 0.72m2
- Waterproof - ideal for wet rooms
- Dimensionally stable
- Light and easy to carry
- Excellent sound insulation - impact sound is hugely reduced
- Cuts with a knife - no need for a jigsaw
- Accepts even the heaviest of wall tiles, providing the correct installation method is followed
- Superb heat insulation with a thermal conductivity value of 0.027 W/mK, making them ideal for use as a thermal barrier with under floor heating
Please note: the colour of the boards may vary, depending on the batch.
These Prowarm insulation boards should be installed on top of an existing concrete or timber sub-floor, and beneath the underfloor heating mats. The benefits are greatly reduced heat up times and running costs.
When installing onto a concrete sub-floor, the Prowarm flexible tile adhesive is recommended. When installing onto a wooden sub-floor, the tile adhesive is recommended as well as screws and washers.

Sizing Information - ProWarm Electric Underfloor Heating & Insulation BoardsWhat Size Heating Mat Do I Need?
Step 1. Measure Your Room
When planning on installing your underfloor
heating system, you should first measure
the Total Floor Space of the room.
Step 2. Find Out Your Free Floor Space
You should then work out the area of Free Floor Space in m2 by accounting for any permanent fixtures or fittings in the room (e.g. bath, toilet).
Remove 10% from this figure and use this to place your order. You should cover 80- 95% of the free floor space available. Anything less than this will lead to patches of cold spots.
e.g. Conservatory measurement
Total Floor Space = 12m2
Free Floor Space = 10m2 -10%= 9m2
How Many Insulation Boards Do I Need?
Each ProWarm insulation board is 1200 x 600mm and covers a total area of 0.72m2.
