not reccommended not very good at cutting tile 1/2 inch wide. would not buy it again. [Thanks for your feedback Jim. Sorry to hear you weren't happy with the cutter. It should be more than capable of cutting 1/2" thick ceramic tiles, as mentioned in the item description. This is a very popular cutter for DIY use.
